My Ranger barely fits with a length of 210". Even if the length they give doesn't include the spare. For a 285 tire, you can add an additional 12" of length to compensate for it. But I think it does include the spare. I don't see the Bronco being as long as my Ranger with a 5' bed.
Check the manufacturer date on the side of the tire. If it's 4+ years old and you see signs of dry rotting, you don't have long. Treat it like any other normal tire, but consider it's been under your truck for X number of years getting beat on by dirt and grime. Make sure it's inflated to the proper psi. Since a donut tire is smaller, you should not be driving more than 50 miles. Hopefully, 50 miles will be enough distance to bring you to the nearest mechanic who can provide you with a new wheel.
