Run the proper plugs, have good 93 oct gas and you won't have any issues. An IC is pretty much mandatory for stage 2, an intake and "upgraded" coils are not. The DSG tune is perfectly matched to the ECU tune. Shifts are quick and the shift points are right where they need to be. Nobody wants to be lugging around in 6th gear at 1400 RPM at 47MPH
4: Diverter Valve My last car was an MK6 GTI. The stock DVs were good for stage 1, and marginal for stage 2. Going on the assumption that the Golf R runs significantly more boost, I’m assuming that it’s going to become an issue at some point once I go stage 2.

It’ll handle slightly better but as above, you’re not going to see the benefit much on the road. If you’re looking at a nearly new R vs a 2-3 year old RS, you’re going to lose a lot less on the RS. You can pick one up for around £32k without much spec, for a decent spec you’re looking at 35k or so.
