Skyactiv X knocking sound. I have the new Mazda 3 sedan skyactiv X just over a year now, and had done around 13000km now (noticed sound after driving it for 2 months or so from new). Sometimes when the car is driven at a constant speed of around 70-80 km/h under 2000 rpm, it may sometimes make a weird knocking sound.
I’m thinking of changing my car, the Mazda 3 skyactiv 2.2 Diesel look good, and the specs sound good, but what are they like ? any like engine problems? Edited by robinhood1701 on 15/02/2019 at 17:16
The 2013 Mazda MAZDA3 has 208 problems & defects reported by MAZDA3 owners. The worst complaints are lights, accessories - interior, and engine problems.

The new Skyactiv-G engine is offered in the Mazda3’s i Touring and i Grand Touring trim. The direct-injected DOHC VVT 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces 155 horsepower (HP) and 148 foot pounds of torque. It’s a solid motor, but the whole Skyactiv story is about more than just the power plant.
GetHlthy9090 • 2023 Supra 3.0 - 2022 Mazda 3 HB • 7 mo. ago. The rear seating on the Mazda 3 is certainly compromised even in it's own class of vehicle. Sure maybe you could comfortably fit 4 passengers if everyone is like 5'8 or under, but any larger size adults and it's going to be tight.
