Fujifilm has introduced the XF 27mm F2.8, a compact 'pancake' lens for its X-system cameras. It's just 23mm thick and weighs only 78g, making it by far the smallest X-mount lens. This means there's no space for an aperture ring, so X-Pro1 and X-E1 owners will need to update their firmware to allow aperture setting from the camera's rear control dial. It'll be available in either black or 2. Canon now makes two pancake lenses for the EOS mount. Both are just slightly wider than "normal", f/2.8, metal builds, and come with the STM focus motor. Both have reviewed quite well for sharpness and overall image quality; see the-digital-picture.com reviews for the 40/2.8 and the 24/2.8. The EF 40mm f/2.8 STM is for full-frame cameras. When the Canon 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens was announced a couple weeks ago, Canon fans all over were squealing with joy- myself included. Hands-On Review with Sigma's Newest 24mm f/1.4 Art Beauty A highly portable pancake lens that’s ideal for travel and street photography. Its advanced optical design ensures great image quality, while a large f/2.8 maximum aperture allows hand-held low-light shooting. STM focusing delivers smooth, near-silent AF when capturing movies. See full specification . 1 / 1. The point being that 1/25s is so close to, as you say, the limits of the body to hold even close to still that it doesn't feel as necessary as for a telephoto lens. For photography, at least, there's not really a gain if you already have the pancake on APS-C. And if you have the adapter the pancake would be half the price of this lens. I'm back with another lens review! Todays video is about the Canon 24mm f/2.8 pancake lens which I believe is an amazing lens for any beginner!(Buying produc GmdClz.
